Alton is going to have it’s first community run ice rink this year!
Thanks to some truly incredible people in our community, it looks as though (weather permitting of course) we’ll be having our very own ice rink! For those of you who aren’t aware, the city had to approved us for this community skating rink. It’s being run and maintained by some very dedicated people who are volunteering their personal time to make this rink possible…Huge thanks to Barb McCarthy, Carol Rizzo (www.absolutehomeservices.ca), Jacques Gauthier and many others in our community for doing all this for us!
We’ll also be having a fun filled new years at the ice rink this December 31st which should be a nice kick off to our first year of having the rink! Details below…
Volunteers needed!
With regards to the rink, once we do get in full swing, we will be needing volunteers to help keep things running smoothly. December 31st from 7 to 10pm at the Alton Village Outdoor rink (at Palladium Park)
Skating under the stars and fireworks! Everyone is welcome. This is a FREE event. If there’s no ice, just come for the fireworks!
