I had the privilege of meeting with Robin Bailey from Feed Halton, and I was truly blown away by the incredible work they’re doing for our community. ❤️
Feed Halton is more than just a food bank—it was formally established in 2023 to centrally and sustainably address the increasing food insecurity in the region. They support local social agencies by distributing both perishable and non-perishable food, along with essential personal products. What really sets them apart is their ability to solve challenges that food banks and community service agencies often face.
In simple terms, our small local food banks often can’t handle the large-scale donations they need to thrive. While they remain vital, providing easy access to those in need within their communities, they rely on organizations like Feed Halton to secure larger donations and a more diverse range of food. This project has been a labor of love by community members who see the growing need, and they are excited to elevate support for our local food banks to the next level.
They achieve this with large-scale procurement, vast storage facilities, efficient warehousing, dedicated loading docks, expanded teams, long-term donor partnerships, and a centralized space for emergency response and distribution.
Feed Halton is doing so much to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry, and I’m so grateful to have witnessed it firsthand. Let’s help them continue this essential work!
